Adam Rettberg first entered the workers’ compensation practice in 2008 as a petitioner’s attorney at a well-known Chicago firm, gaining familiarity with the methodology and thought processes necessary to move cases from inception through settlement, trial, and appeal. After several years, Mr. Rettberg transitioned to the respondent’s side of the practice, using the knowledge and experience gained on the other side of the aisle to aid him in understanding and countering strategies routinely employed by petitioners and their counsel.
Since joining Power & Cronin in 2013, Mr. Rettberg has successfully handled a wide variety of workers’ compensation claims at all levels for his clients, from guidance and counsel on claims not yet filed with the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission, to pro se settlements, to fully-represented cases through settlement or trial and appeals up to the Appellate Courts. Whether a case is small and accepted or large and fully-disputed, Mr. Rettberg’s thorough understanding of strategy from both sides has proven to be an invaluable resource in achieving resolution for his clients.
Mr. Rettberg earned a Bachelor of Arts in Rhetoric from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2000. He earned his Juris Doctor from the John Marshall Law School in 2007, where he was on the Dean’s List.
Mr. Rettberg was admitted to the Illinois State Bar in 2007. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association.
