John P. Fassola practices in the areas of litigation defense and insurance defense, with a specific concentration in workers’ compensation defense. His jury trial experience also includes medical malpractice defense, auto liability defense, premises liability defense, and municipal defense. His practice has a specific focus on the representation of cities, villages, fire districts, and other local governmental entities.
Mr. Fassola was born and raised in Joliet, Illinois, and earned his undergraduate degree from Northern Illinois University, graduating with high honors in 1989 with a B.A. in International Relations and Minors in History and German. Mr. Fassola earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Illinois College of Law, graduating with honors in 1992.
He was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1992, and has subsequently gained admission to the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois, the Northern District of Illinois, the Northern District of Indiana, and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mr. Fassola became associated with Power & Cronin in 1995. In addition to litigation in the Circuit Courts and before the Workers’ Compensation Commission, his experience includes appellate practice before the First, Second, Third and Fourth District Courts of Appeals. Mr. Fassola became a partner with the firm in 2002. Mr. Fassola is a frequent presenter on workers’ compensation topics, especially on issues involving the defense of municipal entities.
