Kirk Kuhns concentrates his practice in the area of workers compensation defense.  Mr. Kuhns joined Power & Cronin in 2015 and brings over twenty-five years of litigation experience to the firm. He became a partner with the firm in 2021.

 

Mr. Kuhns has been handling workers’ compensation matters since 1994 and has extensive experience at all levels of workers’ compensation litigation. In that time, he has handled a wide range of issues on claims with significant complexity and has obtained favorable results for his defense clients.

 

Mr. Kuhns has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America in the field of Workers’ Compensation from 2009 to Present. Additionally, Mr. Kuhns was selected “Lawyer of the Year” in the practice area of Workers’ Compensation Law – Employers in Chicago for the 23rd Edition (2016) of The Best Lawyers In America.  Also, Mr. Kuhns has served as a certified Mediator and presented on a wide variety of workers’ compensation topics to employers and insurance companies.

 

Mr. Kuhns earned a Bachelor of Science in Administration of Criminal Justice from University of North Carolina Chapel Hill in 1990. He earned his Juris Doctor from the New England School of Law in 1994. Mr. Kuhns is licensed in Illinois and North Carolina. Additionally, Mr. Kuhns has a mediation certification. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance.

 

Mr. Kuhns resides in Chicago (West Loop) with his wife and two children.
