Les Johnson concentrates in workers’ compensation defense. For more than 30 years he has applied a comprehensive approach which utilizes his business acumen to advise clients on workers compensation, risk management, and claims avoidance. His practice includes large manufacturers, municipalities and county governmental entities, various service industries, construction, transportation, and health care. He joined Power & Cronin in 2020.
Mr. Johnson was born and raised in Bloomington, Illinois and earned his undergraduate finance degree from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1981. Mr. Johnson earned his Juris Doctor degree from Washington University College of Law in 1985 and an LLM in Taxation Law from DePaul University in 1991.
He was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1986 and his litigation experience includes the Illinois Workers Compensation Commission, Circuit Courts and Illinois Appellate Court. He is a contributing Author for the workers compensation section of the Illinois Employment Law Handbook- 5th edition, Illinois Chamber of Commerce, 2019, as well as a Contributing Author for the Illinois Chamber of Commerce’s Chamber Dispatch, an HR advisory blog.
